This is Nadja. A Squid raised in West Lafayette, Indiana at PWI’s (predominantly white Institution). Growing up she faced a lot of hardships learning how to be herself, but despite everything she never gave up. Music was always a comfort and got Nadja through the hard times. She started making her own music in 2020 on BandLab and continues to thrive and improve her skills as a Drummer, Singer/Songwriter, and Producer. Since moving to Vermont in 2021, NanaUpsideDown (Nana¡) has performed locally with the Black Artist Showcase and has released two EP’s (‘Squids Like Me.’ and ‘Prologue’) and her first album DIMENSIONS. Nadja’s purpose is to inspire hope in times of despair, make space for young and/or independent artists, and show the world that it's okay to be a weird young black woman in America.
